Web Analysis

With some strategic planning, your website not only can draw new customers, it can ultimately make hard-hitting contributions to your organization's growth. If your site has been sitting around just looking pretty, consider these ways you can get it to start flexing muscle:
  • First, is your site search engine-optimized to attract the most and best traffic? By performing search engine optimization (SEO), you can use strategic keywords, site design, and HTML coding to improve your site's rankings in online searches. Generally, websites that rank highest (the ones that appear earliest in search results) receive the most visits.
  • Once you've increased your traffic, is your website converting it into valuable marketing assets? Generating website traffic without parlaying it into mailing lists, leads, and donations is like having a highway billboard-you get visibility and brand awareness, but no tangible assets once the billboard comes down. By adding online information forms and incentive offers, you can actively convert your site traffic into names and contact information, create goodwill by providing beneficial information or resources, and begin developing relationships. Over time, your website visitors may produce online fundraising dollars and become regular givers or even major benefactors. Check out these websites that are effectively using Pathmaker techniques to transforming traffic into assets:
  • A strategic eWelcome series introducing people to your ministry is a great tool for traffic conversion. Here's how it works:
    • Step one is to ask for basic information (first name and email address) in exchange for downloadable incentives such as resources, ideas, or news. This basic contact information immediately enables you to communicate through email.
    • Step two is the thank you page, where in exchange for complete contact information (full name, snail mail address, phone number) you can offer free welcome gifts by mail.
    • Step three is to send an email each week for four to six weeks, introducing the various aspects of your ministry or organization. These communications are strictly informational, without requesting donations, and will help develop relationships by providing valued information.
    • Finally, these names are added to your regular email list and can begin receiving appeals for money.
Pathmaker Marketing has found that for every 100 email addresses collected, 65 convert into full names and mailing addresses for receiving welcome kits. And once you have this information, you can also begin traditional direct marketing fundraising efforts.

Free Website Evaluation

Is your website a pretty billboard ...
or hard core horsepower for company growth?

When we evaluate sites, we often look first at aesthetics, because you don't need to drop a million bucks to look like a million-dollar organization. If your look and feel is broken, it's time to get that problem fixed pronto.

But more often than not, the real issue is not a surface problem, but a underlying functional one. Does your website work hard at converting site traffic into useable assets? Lists, leads, sales or donations -- If you're not actively getting these from your site traffic, your pretty billboard isn't performing its most strategic marketing role.

Properly done, a company website is fully capable of making substantial contributions to your company growth.

Functionality is key. Let Pathmaker perform its functional evaluation of your site, and see how you stack up against this litmus test. If you need help improving, like many sites do, we can give you a easy-to-understand proposal on how we can help you get up to code.

Increase your Online Sales through E-mail Marketing

Increase your Online Sales through E-mail Marketing. This is one of the strategies that Pathmaker Marketing is doing for its clients and has been proven effective on all kinds of businesses. This is especially true if “coupons” and special offers figure prominently in your Marketing Program. For many businesses, E-Mail Marketing may very well be your ticket to “Marketing Paradise!” Prime examples of those who might benefit from E-Mail Marketing are Restaurants, Sporting Goods Stores and Churches. To begin with, we need to realize that there are two major challenges in implementing an effective E-Mail Marketing Program: The key to building your list is that you have to provide a reason for people to join. In the case of the Restaurant and Sporting Goods Store, you might offer a "2 for 1 coupon,” or a "20% Off” your next order when they sign up. A Church might offer a free White Paper on Prayer or Better Family Life for signing up. You provide patrons the opportunity to enroll while they are in your establishment, and at that time you explain that future coupons will be forthcoming when they "enroll” with you.

Once a Restaurant has a list to work with they can start their E-Mail Marketing Program. They can send out coupons for Karaoke Night, or for Holiday Discounts, or maybe even to join you for Monday Night Football. It is important to remember that an E-Mail Marketing Program is primarily to provide your business with "spikes,” corresponding to the event or holiday. Inasmuch as E-Mails tend to have a short "shelf life,” these are good for “short term” promotions. For the Sporting Goods store it would be very similar, but you might want to offer "how to” classes for members of your contact list. You might also promote a "One Day Sale” or a "Week End Event.” While Restaurants might take advantage of Holidays, the Sporting Goods Store might benefit from the various seasons - Hunting, Fishing, Baseball, etc. An E-Mail inviting your contact list members to attend a class titled "A one day Guide to tying Flies” would serve several purposes: 1) It would help you determine your clients area of interest and 2) it would set the stage for increased sales regarding Fly Fishing!

Another way to Increase your online sales through e-mail marketing is to offer an invitation to a special Holiday Service or even a “Movie Night” or special musical presentation. Again, the idea is to get people in so that you can determine what their needs are and how you can help meet those needs. Regardless of the entity are promoting, there are several important facts you need to keep in mind when building your E-Mail Program. Most importantly, perhaps, is the fact that you will want to design your coupons in HTML. This not only allows you to develop and forward an "attractive” coupon that will render properly, it also provides you with the means to "track” your E-Mails, allowing you to know how many of them are being opened and, perhaps even more importantly, how many recipients are "clicking through.”
